Stop the Presses!

Quick.

Get Kerry on the phone to rescind his concession.

Have a Secret Service guy fly through the air and tackle Bush off that Acceptance Podium.

Has everyone forgotten?

The Washington Redskins Prophecy. It's been well-documented that if the Redskins lose the weekend before the election - the incumbent is oh so out there come Tuesday. It's been that way since 1936.

Did the Redskins not clearly lose to Green Bay last Sunday 28-14? (They shouldn't have reversed that Clinon Portis touchdown - but what do you do?)

This can't be over. Implausible as it may be, somehow all those provisionary ballots in Ohio are going to go to Kerry. Or maybe lawyers will clearly demonstrate that thousands in Florida were confused and thought they were voting Kerry but misclicked the button. Or maybe someone in the Electoral committee made a huge blunder and Rhode Island is really worth 40 electoral votes and not 4.

The Redskins prediction has been right *every time* since 1936. How can you argue that? I don't know what's controlling it, but it's obvious that the Powers That Be have decided that's the way it's going to be. You may think it's issues and voting records that matter, but like it or not, an NFL football team controls the outcome.

So sit back and watch the fireworks. Cause something's gonna happen to turn this ship around - just you wait!

Or maybe, just maybe - this is a case of people trying to turn coincidence into fact.

Nah.

Or maybe, just maybe, the Redskins are a really bad team with an aging, weak-armed quarterback and a lackluster defense? A team that had no business beating Brett Favre regardless of the political situation?

Or maybe that Redskins were ripped off by a Democratic referee / line judge that created a bogus call just to toss the game to the opposing side

Actually, someone pointed out that they are no longer the "Washington" Redskins, but the "Maryland" Redskins. Since they moved their home field out of the DC.

So the trend holds true, but will no longer be a predictor, and they can retire 17-0.

Or it could be like Darviathar says too!
